This course will provide the user with the fundamentals of using AutodeskŪ RevitŪ Structure including an overview of Building Information modeling. The instructor will cover the Revit Structure interface, setting up projects, adding levels and importing images and drawings, walls and footings, floors, frames and roofs, structural analysis, and more. The first two days of this three day class is comprised of instructor lecture and demonstration with short hands-on exercises, with the third day being reserved primarily as a project-based lab during which participants will be able to apply the concepts learned in a more realistic scenario.

Course Objectives

Autodesk Revit Structure is deceptively easy to learn and use, but understanding how to effectively use Revit Structure remains an elusive goal for many new users. This course will provide not only a solid foundation of Revit Structure skills, but present optimal techniques for effectively employing it in your engineering practice.

Prerequisites

  • No prior CAD experience or knowledge is necessary
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills
  • Familiarity with the Windows OS environment
  • Basic knowledge of engineering design, drafting techniques and geometry
