This course will provide the user with the fundamentals of using AutodeskŪ RevitŪ
MEP in a design and production environment including an overview of Building Information modeling.
A significant focus for the first day of the class is how to correctly utilize
Revit models provided by project Architects. The instructor will cover the Revit
MEP interface, view management, schedule creation, HVAC thermal load analysis,
HVAC & piping systems layout, plumbing, hydronic & fire protection piping
systems, electrical system layout & design, work-sharing concepts, file linking
& collaborative workflows, Revit Families concepts & guidelines, and mechanical
equipment & fittings.

Course Objectives
Autodesk Revit MEP is a new design tool for most users. Understanding the
radically different workflow process and capabilities of Revit are key to
achieving greater productivity. This course will provide not only a solid foundation of Revit
MEP skills, but present optimal techniques for effectively employing it in your engineering practice.
Prerequisites
- No prior CAD experience or knowledge is necessary
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Familiarity with the Windows OS environment
- Basic knowledge of engineering design, drafting techniques and geometry
