This hands-on, entry-level course covers Autodesk Inventor features necessary to
create, edit, and plot parametric part and assembly models and drawings. This
course includes instruction on the fundamental aspects of adaptive, parametric
solid-modeling such as conceptual design development using sketch constraints
and parametric dimensions, part feature creation and editing, feature
suppression, lofting, sweeping, work feature usage, design elements, design
variables, table driven parts, multi-view drawing creation, assembly modeling,
interference checking, drawing management annotations, and bills of materials.
Upon completion, students will be able to construct parametric part and assembly
models of moderate complexity as well as generate 2D detail drawings for
mechanical assemblies.
Key Benefits
- Teach basic Inventor techniques and skills
- Provide an understanding of the Inventor design process
- Shorten the initial learning curve and improve productivity
- Autodesk Certified Instructor
- One student per computer
Course Objectives
Inventor is Autodesk's next-generation 3D assembly modeling tool without any
basis in AutoCAD. It uses an new, intuitive interface to simplify creation of
complex 3D parts. But understanding Inventor's unique rules and applying them
correctly throughout the design process can mean the difference between
frustration and delight. This course aims at providing a strong foundation of
knowledge so that Inventor users will avoid many of the common mistakes
beginners make.
Prerequisites
- No prior CAD experience or knowledge is necessary
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Basic knowledge of Windows OS environment
- Basic knowledge of drafting techniques and geometry
